In 2018, the Cullys team was engaged to carry out a series of electrical works on board Go Sirius during its scheduled dry docking in Henderson.
With the vessel out of water for maintenance, our technicians had the opportunity to access and upgrade key systems that are often difficult to reach while in operation. One of the major tasks included a complete lighting upgrade in the engine room, replacing the original fittings with a high-efficiency LED system.
The new lighting significantly improved visibility and safety for crew members working in the engine space — delivering a brighter, more reliable, and energy-efficient solution better suited to the vessel’s operating conditions.
We also carried out fault-finding and electrical testing throughout various sections of the ship, addressing any issues identified before the vessel returned to service. This included inspecting distribution systems, replacing worn fittings, and verifying the condition of existing circuits.
By working closely with the dry dock schedule, we were able to complete all works efficiently and with minimal disruption to the broader maintenance program.
It’s a great example of how routine maintenance windows can be used to carry out valuable upgrades that enhance performance and safety on board.
