This week our technicians completed scheduled generator servicing for two St John Ambulance vehicles — the Command Centre and a Multi-Patient Transfer Ambulance.
Both vehicles are equipped with Cummins Onan HDKBB generators, which supply critical mobile power during emergency operations. The service was carried out on-site at the St John WA depot, with both units inspected and maintained as part of our preventative maintenance program.
Access to one of the generators was extremely limited due to the vehicle’s compact internal layout. To complete the service safely and effectively, the unit had to be dropped down out of its cavity to allow full access. Using flexible tools and careful handling, our technicians carried out the necessary checks and servicing before reinstalling the genset securely.
Working on vehicles that serve such an essential role in the community is something we’re always proud to support. Reliable power is crucial in the field, and regular servicing ensures these emergency vehicles are always ready to respond.
